Coming up with an overall style and theme for your house is one thing, but it’s an entirely different job to think about how you would style your kid’s room. Most children’s bedrooms look different that the other areas of the house, but it does not mean that you have to sacrifice form over function. In fact, with a ton of imagination, you can spruce up your kid’s sleeping quarters in no time.

Here are some great tips on how to arrange and style your kid’s bedroom:

  • Consider their height.

Always make use of shelves and tables that your kids can reach. That way, when time comes for them to arrange their clutter, they can put their toys and stuff into their proper containers.

  • Dedicate a wall for freestyle art.

Instead of worrying about kids drawing on the walls, find a specific wall in their room where they can go crazy and use they crayons on. You can even use chalkboard paint to convert a blank wall into a blackboard.

  • Glow-in-the-dark decorations on the ceiling.

By affixing glowing stars in their room ceiling, you can encourage your kids to turn off the lights when it’s time to sleep.

  • Creative lighting fixtures.

Don’t bore your kids with white lights. Aside from the standard reading lights, put fun colored lights in their room that they can turn on when they want to go to the toilet.

  • Personalize their room.

Allow your children to become part of the decoration process by putting their handprints on the wall or letting them affix their name on a table. That way, they will learn to love the room and make it their own.
