Weavers, dealers and clients who love rugs came together at the Metropolitan Pavilion on September 7-9, 2014 for this year’s New York International Carpet Show (NYICS). The annual trade show and exhibit showcases works by renowned carpet designers, as well as various rug and carpet styles sold by retail rug dealers.
Now on its tenth year, NYICS is a yearly trade event during the Fall Market where visitors can bear witness to the amazing carpet displays from various vendors and rug weavers. Since its inception ten years ago, NYICS has grown into a must-see trade show in North America for hand-woven rugs and carpets.
Show attendees were treated not only to a wide variety of carpet displays but also to welcome eats and drinks as well as take-home totebags. The Met Pavilion provided a perfect venue for NYICS, as a lounge section was reserved for those who want to stay longer in the show and connect with carpet dealers.
The organizers of NYICS hope to attract more visitors as each trade show is launched, and fuel the passion of carpet lovers to continue appreciating the art of rug weaving. This year’s exhibit may have achieved their hope, based on the strong attendance and good business.
