Battersea Park will play host to the 2017 London Antique Rug and Textile Art (LARTA) Fair to be held on January 24-29, 2017. This year’s theme is “A Celebration of Color And Design In Antique Rug and Textile Art.”
The event will feature rugs of every size and style, embroideries, decorative textiles, runners and kilims, costumes, wall hangings, and adornment. The woven works will showcase Asian and Islamic Art as well as tribal artifacts, including basketry, ethnic jewelry, and beadwork. Among the exhibitors include Arian Arts, Galerie Arabesque, Gideon Hatch, Andy Lloyd, Owen Parry, to name just a few.
Aside from the exhibit, LARTA will also allow visitors to have a taste of delicious all-day food at Megan’s Kitchen & Champagne Bar. There will also be on-site shipping services and the luxury of being a hop away from Sloane Square.
Those who cannot attend the event need not worry, once the fair opens on January 24, they will have access to the event via LARTA Online. They will be able to see the best items being sold by the dealers at the Fair. Visitors will be able to view high resolution images, captions, and contact details.
Some of the items that will be sold comes from Persia, China, India, Central Asia, Anatolia, and others. The pieces hark back to the early 20th century, and cost between £500 to over £25,000.
